Role of Banking Relationship Specialist at ConnectOne Bank

Banking Relationship Specialists play a pivotal role in providing a unique “Client First” banking experience at ConnectOne. They are responsible for acquiring, retaining, and expanding banking relationships of both business and consumer clients while demonstrating the ConnectOne Culture. They provide a bridge between the bank and its clients, ensuring a seamless banking experience.

The responsibilities of a Banking Relationship Specialist at ConnectOne include, but are not limited to, proactively identifying opportunities for relationship acquisition and development, performing account opening for deposit products, and educating clients on the bank’s products and services in a consultative manner. They also ensure that all activities, transactions, and records are in compliance with the operational, security, and control procedures of the Bank, preventing fraud and protecting customer assets.

Banking Relationship Specialists at ConnectOne are the backbones of our branches, often serving as primary back-ups to the Branch Manager or Assistant Branch Manager for operational and service-related functions. They also assist other branch team members with transactions and overall operations, providing feedback and coaching to improve overall team performance.

Requirements and Benefits

ConnectOne looks for individuals with strong needs-based sales skills, one to three years of bank platform sales and teller experience, and a detailed understanding of federal banking compliance and requirements. The bank also values strong “People First” interest and ability, effective team-building and interpersonal communication abilities, and a demonstrated mastery of ConnectOne Bank culture.
