Overview of the Senior Business Analyst Role
The Senior Business Analyst role at East West Bank is a position of responsibility and influence. The role encompasses a wide range of tasks, including data analytics, Operational Excellence initiatives, system enhancements/implementation, and the design and implementation of medium to large-scale projects.
This position acts as a liaison between the solution end users and business partners such as IT, Enterprise Project Management, and/or 3rd party vendors. The Senior Business Analyst is also responsible for managing Banking Operations projects, developing system business requirements, and performing User Acceptance tests.
Additionally, this role includes the responsibility of coaching and leading junior team members, particularly during the delivery cycles.
Key Responsibilities
The role of the Senior Business Analyst is multi-dimensional and includes the following responsibilities:
- Leading business partners, IT, 3rd party vendors, and operational users SME in designing feasible technical solutions for medium to large projects.
- Writing business requirements for projects and working with IT and/or 3rd party vendors to ensure successful delivery.
- Designing and performing system integration tests to ensure the system and/or interface functions as expected.
- Managing project implementation and providing project progress updates to the senior management team.
- Identifying opportunities for data report automation and collaborating with IT to materialize such opportunities.
- Conducting data analysis and generating management reports based on user requests.
- Improving operational efficiency through enhanced process flow development and implementation.
- Maintaining documentation for critical applications, reports, and daily business analytics processes.
- Providing coaching, support, and training to other business analysts.
- Performing other business analytic tasks as requested.
Qualifications
The position requires a Master’s degree in finance, business, engineering, science, or related fields or equivalent work experience. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 to 7 years’ experience in banking analytics, with a working knowledge of banking regulations. Experience in process automation design and implementation is a must. The candidate should have excellent analytical skills, with experience performing complex data analysis.
Communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential. The candidate should be a self-starter, capable of navigating a complex organizational structure and achieving results through influence and collaboration. The ability to multitask, adapt quickly to changes, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment is necessary.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills and intermediate SQL skills, is required. Working knowledge in IBS Insight, LPS, SAP Business Intelligence, and Passport applications is preferred. Leadership skills are a must for this role.

Compensation
The base pay range for this position is USD $80,000.00/Yr. – USD $100,000.00/Yr. Final offers will be determined based on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
