What the Position Entails
Your primary responsibility will be to assist the credit union’s members with their banking needs. This will involve responding to member requests, complaints, and problems in person, on the phone, and via email. You will also be expected to use the sales process to identify and recommend Credit Union products and services to members based on their financial needs.
Other duties include maintaining a cash drawer, creating professional and lasting relationships with members of the banking industry, participating in community-related activities, attending regular branch meetings, and undertaking training opportunities. Additionally, you will be assigned projects to work on.
Key Skills and Expertise You Will Acquire
Through this experience, you will learn Magnifi Financial’s member service standards and gain valuable experience working with members in a professional environment in person and over the phone. This will also give you the opportunity to process financial transactions accurately and efficiently, giving you invaluable hands-on experience.
You will also become familiar with the ins and outs of Magnifi Financial’s products and procedures, and learn how to maintain a cash drawer. You will gain a deep understanding of the Magnifi Financial sales process and learn how to sell and recommend products and services and make referrals to other departments.
Furthermore, you will gain a thorough understanding of deposit accounts as well as deposit compliance and industry regulations such as BSA, Reg D, Reg CC, etc. This knowledge will be invaluable when applying these regulations in a practical setting.
Experience and Education
The minimum requirement to apply for this position is a high school diploma or equivalent. If you’re still pursuing your high school diploma, you can also apply. In addition to your academic qualifications, you need to have a positive attitude, excellent communication and relationship-building skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality. You should also feel comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with constantly changing priorities. Having at least six months of customer service experience is preferable.
Work Schedule and Compensation
The job runs from May/June until August 2026, with the exact end date to be determined upon offer. You will be expected to work 40 hours per week, typically between 8 am and 5 pm from Monday to Friday, with rotating weekends and Saturdays from 9 am to noon. The salary range for this position is between $16.95/hr. and $25.42/hr., varying based on factors such as location, internal equity, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role. Apart from the salary, you will begin accruing Paid Time Off (PTO) and Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST) from the date of hire.
