Position Purpose and Essential Functions

The bank is responsible for directing and administering the operational efforts of the banking center. This role requires ensuring that established policies and procedures are followed while delivering a full range of services to customers and prospective customers. The position also requires training, directing, and supervising lobby and teller staff, ensuring their transactions, expenses, and profitability align with the Bank’s standards.

Operational Responsibilities

The operational responsibilities of the bank center manager include supervising work scheduling and workflow of daily routine operations, ensuring all security procedures are followed, and conducting operations in accordance with established Bank policies, legal, and regulatory requirements. The manager is also responsible for completing weekly logs correctly, meeting monthly and quarterly audit requirements, supervising and assisting with customer service functions, cross-selling Bank services, and implementing changes to established policies and procedures within the banking center.

Cash Control Responsibilities

Proper cash control is crucial in the banking industry. The manager ensures that all banking center transactions are balanced at the close of each day, oversees individual accountability for the handling of cash, assists Tellers in resolving balancing problems, controls and handles daily deposits in accordance with established policies and procedures, and periodically verifies cash in possession of Tellers and cash on the premises.

Staff Supervision and Customer Relationship Responsibilities

Effective supervision of the banking center staff and establishing and maintaining effective, professional business relations with customers are also integral parts of the manager’s role. The manager provides leadership through effective objective setting and communication and ensures that personnel are well trained in all phases of their respective jobs. They also ensure that customer’s’ requests and questions are promptly resolved, and that customers are informed of Bank services and policies.

Administrative Responsibilities

The manager is responsible for effectively administering banking center functions. This includes managing and overseeing expenses, pursuing cost-saving measures, continually seeking ways to improve banking center operations and productivity, preparing periodic banking center activity reports, and keeping management informed of banking center activities, progress toward established objectives, and any significant problems.

Performance Measurements

Performance measurements for the manager include ensuring that banking center services are efficiently and effectively delivered in accordance with established Bank policies and standards, maintaining or expanding current customer accounts, and ensuring that good business relationships exist with customers. The manager is also responsible for ensuring that banking center personnel are well trained and efficient, and their activities are well-coordinated.

Qualifications

The qualifications for this position include an associate degree in business or a related field, or an equivalent combination of training and work experience. It also requires a thorough knowledge of Bank services and products, understanding of related legal and regulatory requirements, and familiarity with Branch functions, policies, and procedures. A minimum of three years related experience in a financial institution, with a minimum of two years supervisory experience is also required.
