Understanding the Role of a Banking Associate
The role of the Banking Associate is crucial in delivering TD’s brand promise at the store location. The associate is responsible for accurately completing everyday banking transactions, providing advice, and offering educational support on various services, products, and tools to help customers achieve their financial goals.
The associate is expected to perform a wide range of tasks across multiple areas within the store location, including processing customer transactions, opening new accounts, and educating customers on all banking products and services. The role also involves providing end-to-end advice to customers, utilizing TD’s systems and tools to engage with customers, and accurately completing banking transactions.
Education and Experience
The ideal candidate for this role should possess a high school diploma or GED and at least a year of experience working with customers in any capacity. This experience can be demonstrated through volunteering, education, or military experience. Other desirable skills include strong organization skills, excellent communication skills, effective problem-solving skills, and a demonstrated ability to work independently and within deadlines.
Customer, Shareholder, and Employee/Team Accountabilities
As a Banking Associate, you are accountable to the customers, shareholders, and your team. You will consistently provide legendary customer service, establish and nurture customer relationships, and manage wait times to meet with a banker. You will also ensure compliance when completing operational activities in accordance with company guidelines and regulations.
As a team player, you will contribute to a positive work environment, be an active participant in personal performance and development activities, and collaborate with team members to contribute to the team and organization’s success.
Physical requirements of the job include performing sedentary work, operating standard office equipment, and the ability to handle multiple tasks. Occasional domestic travel may be required.
