Role and Responsibilities
The Banking Associate role at TD is an integral part of the Personal & Commercial Banking sector. The primary responsibility of the professional in this position is to accurately complete everyday banking transactions, provide advice, and offer educational support on services, products, and tools to help customers achieve their financial goals. The individual will also be responsible for understanding customer financial needs and promoting relevant products and services, as well as referring them to the appropriate team member or internal Bank partner.
This role involves a wide range of tasks across multiple areas within a store location, including processing customer transactions, opening new accounts, educating customers on all banking products and services, and providing end-to-end advice to customers. The Banking Associate will also be responsible for utilizing TD’s systems and tools to engage with customers and deepen relationships. The role will also require the associate to accurately complete everyday banking transactions either on the teller line or on the platform.
Education & Experience
The ideal candidate should possess a high school diploma or GED, with at least a year of experience working with customers in any capacity. A background in volunteering, education, military experience, or customer service is preferred. Teller experience is also a significant advantage. Additionally, the candidate should have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, the ability to work independently, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. A Notary License is preferred but not required.
Accountabilities
The Banking Associate should consistently provide legendary customer service while transacting, promoting, educating, and referring TD Products to new and existing customers. They should also establish and nurture customer relationships by actively listening to customer needs and engaging in additional conversations to identify any additional needs and offer a solution or partner referral. Furthermore, they should understand and support the Bank’s customer service strategy and consider the impact of decisions on the well-being of TD, its customers, and stakeholders.
Physical Requirements
The physical requirements for the role include frequent sitting, standing, walking, and performing multiple tasks. Occasionally, the role might require lifting or carrying items weighing up to 25 lbs. The role also requires a strong ability to concentrate for long periods, read, write, comprehend instructions, and perform arithmetic operations.
