Role and Responsibilities of a Banking Associate at TD Bank
The Banking Associate is a key player in delivering TD’s brand promise at the store location. This role is responsible for accurately completing everyday banking transactions and providing advice and educational support on a range of services, products, and tools to help customers achieve their financial goals.
The Banking Associate performs a wide range of tasks across multiple areas within a store location, including processing customer transactions, opening new accounts, and educating customers on all banking products and services. The associate is also responsible for delivering end-to-end advice customers expect, building trust through educational content and tools, providing consultative support, and advocating with proactive insights and recommendations.
The associate utilizes TD’s systems and tools to engage with customers, acquire and deepen relationships by providing advice and guidance, and attract and retain the customer. The associate’s understanding of customer financial needs is crucial to identifying opportunities to promote and educate customers on products and services, or refer them to the appropriate team member or internal Bank partner, ensuring a positive customer experience.
Education and Experience Requirements
Applicants for the Banking Associate role must possess a high school diploma or GED. They should have at least one year of experience working with customers in any capacity. This experience could be demonstrated through volunteering, education, or military experience. Additional desirable skills include demonstrated customer service skills, strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a notary license are preferred.
Physical Requirements and Travel
The physical requirements for this position include performing multiple tasks, operating standard office equipment, and responding quickly to sounds. The banking associate will be frequently sitting, standing, walking, and occasionally lifting and carrying items under and over 25 lbs. This role may require occasional domestic travel but does not require international travel.
