Role and Responsibilities of a Banking Associate
The Banking Associate serves as a crucial component in delivering TD’s Brand promise at the store location. This professional is accountable for accurately completing everyday banking transactions, providing advice, and offering educational support on services, products, and tools to help customers achieve their financial goals.
The Banking Associate is expected to perform a wide array of tasks across multiple areas within a store location. This includes processing customer transactions, opening new accounts, and educating customers on all banking products and services. The aim is to deliver end-to-end advice that customers expect: building trust with educational content and tools, providing consultative support, and advocating with proactive insights and recommendations.
The Banking Associate should have a comprehensive understanding of customer financial needs. This knowledge is used to identify opportunities to promote and educate customers on products and services, or refer them to the appropriate team member or internal bank partner. The goal is to attract and retain customers by ensuring a positive customer experience.
Education and Experience Requirements
The educational requirement for this role is a high school diploma or GED. In terms of experience, at least one year of experience working with customers in any capacity is preferred. This can be demonstrated through volunteering, education, or military experience. Demonstrated customer service skills are preferred as well.
Other requirements include strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, effective problem-solving skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. The ability to work independently and within deadlines is also necessary. Prior teller experience and a Notary License are preferred but not required.
