The Role of a Banking Associate
As a Banking Associate, you’ll play a key role in delivering TD’s brand promise at the store location. This role entails completing everyday banking transactions accurately, providing advice, educational support on services, products, and tools to assist customers in achieving their financial goals.
The role is multi-faceted, requiring the Associate to perform a wide range of tasks across multiple areas within the store location. These tasks include processing customer transactions, opening new accounts, educating customers on all banking products and services, delivering end-to-end advice customers expect, and advocating with proactive insights & recommendations.
As an associate, you’ll utilize TD’s systems and tools to engage with customers, acquire and deepen relationships by providing advice and guidance, and ultimately attract and retain the customer. You’ll also need to understand the customer’s financial needs to identify opportunities to promote and educate on products and services, refer them to the appropriate team member or internal Bank partner, while ensuring a positive customer experience.
Qualifications and Skills
Applicants for the Banking Associate role should have a high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of experience working with customers in any capacity. Demonstrated customer service skills and teller experience are preferred. Applicants must be able to work during operating hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Strong organizational skills, excellent communication skills, effective problem-solving skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office are also required.
Customer and Shareholder Accountabilities
In this role, associates are expected to provide legendary customer service while transacting, promoting, educating, and referring TD products to new and existing customers. They are also expected to establish and nurture customer relationships by displaying product knowledge and actively listening to customer needs. As for shareholder accountabilities, associates are expected to ensure compliance when completing operational activities in accordance with company guidelines and regulations such as the Bank Secrecy Act and the Patriot Act to minimize risk and protect the customer.
