What Does a Banking Associate Do?
The Banking Associate plays a key role in delivering TD’s brand promise. This professional is accountable for accurately completing everyday banking transactions and providing advice and educational support on services, products, and tools to help customers achieve their financial goals. The role involves performing a wide range of tasks, including processing customer transactions, opening new accounts, and educating customers on all banking products and services.
Key Responsibilities
The Banking Associate is expected to provide end-to-end advice customers expect, including building trust with educational content & tools, providing consultative support, and advocating with proactive insights & recommendations. This role is also responsible for understanding customers’ financial needs to identify opportunities to promote and educate on products, services, or refer them to the appropriate team member or internal Bank partner. They are also expected to service customers with opening/closing personal deposit accounts and everyday bank transactions among other duties.
Qualifications and Skills Required
The ideal candidate for this position should have a high school diploma or GED, with at least 1-year experience working with customers in any capacity. Teller experience is preferred, and the candidate should display excellent customer service skills. The ability to work during operating hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, is essential. Strong organization skills, excellent communication skills, proficient problem-solving skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office are required. A Notary License is preferred.
Physical Requirements
The position occasionally requires domestic travel, with the candidate frequently performing sedentary work and multiple tasks. The ability to respond quickly to sounds and safely move in confined spaces is essential. The candidate will also be expected to frequently sit, stand, and walk, and occasionally lift/carry up to 25 lbs.
