Role of a Banking Associate at TD
The Banking Associate is a key role in delivering TD’s Brand promise at a store location. This role is accountable for accurately completing everyday banking transactions and providing advice and educational support on services, products, and tools to help Customers achieve their financial goals. The Banking Associate performs a wide range of tasks across multiple areas within a Store location; to include processing customer transactions, opening new accounts and educating customers on all banking products and services.
Key Responsibilities of a Banking Associate
Banking Associates at TD are expected to deliver end-to-end advice customers expect. This includes building trust with educational content & tools, providing consultative support, and advocating with proactive insights & recommendations. They are required to utilize TD’s systems and tools to engage with Customers to acquire and deepen relationships. They also understand customer financial needs to identify opportunities to promote and educate on products, services, and refer them to the appropriate team member or internal Bank partner, while ensuring a positive customer experience.
Qualifications and Skills Required
TD seeks candidates with a high school diploma or GED and a minimum of 1 year of experience working with customers. This experience can be demonstrated through any of the following: volunteering, education, military experience. The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong customer service skills, organization skills, and effective problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required and a Notary License is preferred.
Customer and Shareholder Accountabilities
Banking Associates are expected to consistently provide legendary customer service while transacting, promoting, educating and referring TD Products to new and existing customers. They need to establish and nurture customer relationships by consistently displaying product knowledge, actively listening to customer needs while engaging in additional conversations to identify any additional needs and offer a solution or partner referral.
From a shareholder’s perspective, Banking Associates ensure compliance when completing operational activities in accordance with company guidelines and regulations such as Bank Secrecy Act and Patriot Act to minimize risk and protect the customer. They accurately process cash/deposit/withdrawal transactions and other account servicing requests.
Physical Requirements and Work Location
The Banking Associate role is based in Portland, Maine, United States of America. The physical requirements for the role include performing sedentary work, operating standard office equipment, sitting, standing, walking, and occasionally lifting/carrying items under 25 lbs. Domestic travel may be required on occasion.
