Role and Responsibilities of a Banking Associate

The banking associate is a professional in banking who plays a key role in delivering TD Bank’s brand promise at their Newark/Mulberry store location. This role is responsible for accurately completing everyday banking transactions and providing advice and educational support on services, products, and tools to help customers achieve their financial goals.

As a banking associate, you will be expected to perform a wide range of tasks across multiple areas within the Store location. This includes processing customer transactions, opening new accounts, and educating customers on all banking products and services. You will deliver end-to-end advice to customers by building trust with educational content and tools, providing consultative support, and advocating with proactive insights and recommendations.

You will utilize TD’s systems and tools to engage with customers to acquire and deepen relationships by providing advice and guidance, ultimately attracting, and retaining the customer. Understanding customer financial needs is key to identifying opportunities to promote and educate on products and services, and refer them to the appropriate team member or internal Bank partner, while ensuring a positive customer experience.

Qualifications and Skills Required

A high school diploma or GED is required, along with a year’s experience working with customers. This experience can be demonstrated through volunteering, education, or military experience. You must possess excellent customer service skills, be available to work during operating hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled, and be proficient in Microsoft Office. Teller experience is preferred, and a Notary License would be an advantage.
