Role Description and Responsibilities
As a Banking Associate, the individual will be a key player in delivering TD Bank’s brand promise at the Parsippany store location. The role encompasses a wide range of tasks, including processing customer transactions, opening new accounts, and providing advice on various banking products and services. The Banking Associate will need to build trust with the customers by providing educational content, consultative support, and proactive insights and recommendations. They will also be responsible for understanding the customer’s financial needs and educating them about appropriate products and services accordingly.
Qualifications and Experience
The successful candidate should have a high school diploma or a GED and at least one year of customer service experience. This can be demonstrated through volunteering, education, military experience, or other avenues. Teller experience is preferred but not mandatory. The candidate should also possess strong organizational skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and within deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and customer authentication principles is required. A Notary License is preferred, but not compulsory.
Accountabilities and Expectations
The Banking Associate at TD Bank will be expected to consistently provide legendary customer service while transacting, promoting, educating, and referring TD Products to both new and existing customers. The role also includes managing customer wait times, engaging in lobby leadership, and understanding and supporting the Bank’s customer service strategy. The Banking Associate will be responsible for making decisions that positively impact the well-being of TD, its customers, and stakeholders.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
Given the nature of the job, the candidate is expected to perform multiple tasks, operate standard office equipment, and respond quickly to sounds. The job may also require occasional domestic travel. The position requires frequent standing, sitting, and walking, along with occasional lifting and carrying objects under 25 lbs. The ability to concentrate for long periods and to perform basic mathematical operations is also required.
