The role of the Banking Associate is crucial in upholding TD’s brand promise at the store location. This role involves accurately completing everyday banking transactions, providing advice, and offering educational support on services, products, and tools to assist customers in achieving their financial goals.
Depth & Scope of the Role
As a Banking Associate, you will be expected to perform a wide range of tasks spanning multiple areas within a store location. Responsibilities include processing customer transactions, opening new accounts, and educating customers on all banking products and services. The role requires a deep understanding of customer financial needs, enabling you to identify opportunities to promote and educate customers on products and services. It also involves lead management activities, such as creation and management of self-generated leads, customer outreach, and setting appointments.
What Do You Need to Bring to the Table?
A high school diploma or GED is required, along with at least 1 year of experience working with customers. This experience can be demonstrated through volunteering, education, or military experience. Teller experience is preferred, and candidates will be required to complete Teller training and part 1 of platform training upon hire. Strong organizational skills, excellent communication skills, effective problem-solving skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office are some of the other prerequisites. A Notary License is preferred.
Customer, Shareholder, and Employee/Team Accountabilities
As a Banking Associate, you are expected to consistently provide legendary customer service while transacting, promoting, educating, and referring TD Products to new and existing customers. Your role also involves ensuring compliance when completing operational activities in accordance with company guidelines and regulations. Moreover, you are expected to contribute to a positive work environment, actively participate in personal performance and development activities, and collaborate with team members to contribute to the success of the team and organization.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
The job involves frequent sitting, standing, and walking. Occasional lifting and carrying of items under and over 25 lbs is required. Other physical requirements include occasional squatting, bending, kneeling, crawling, and climbing. Domestic travel is possible, and you will be expected to perform multiple tasks and respond quickly to sounds. Proficiency in reading, writing, comprehending instructions, and performing mathematical operations is also required.
