The Role of a Banking Associate at TD Bank
The Banking Associate plays a crucial role in delivering TD’s brand promise at a store location. This professional is accountable for accurately completing everyday banking transactions, providing advice, and educational support on services, products, and tools to help customers achieve their financial goals.
The role involves a wide range of tasks, such as processing customer transactions, opening new accounts, and educating customers on all banking products and services. The Banking Associate also delivers end-to-end advice customers expect, from building trust with educational content & tools to providing consultative support and advocating with proactive insights & recommendations.
The associate uses TD’s systems and tools to engage with customers, deepen relationships, and attract and retain customers. They understand customer financial needs and identify opportunities to promote and educate on products and services or refer them to the appropriate team member or internal Bank partner. This process ensures a positive customer experience.
Education and Experience Requirements
Applicants for this role should have a high school diploma or GED, and preferably at least one year of experience working with customers. This experience can be demonstrated through any of the following: volunteering, education, or military experience. Other desirable skills include strong organization skills to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, excellent communication skills, and demonstrated effective problem-solving skills.
The candidate should also be proficient in Microsoft Office and preferably have a Notary License. Teller experience is also preferred, and the candidate is required to complete Teller training and part 1 of platform training upon hire.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
The role may require occasional domestic travel, and the candidate should be comfortable performing sedentary work, operating standard office equipment, and responding quickly to sounds. Frequent sitting, standing, walking, and performing multiple tasks are also part of the job. The candidate should also be capable of lifting/carrying items under 25 lbs. occasionally.
