Job Description and Responsibilities
The Banking Associate is a professional in banking, responsible for accurately completing everyday banking transactions and providing advice and educational support on services, products, and tools to help customers achieve their financial goals.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Processing customer transactions, opening new accounts, and educating customers on banking products and services.
- Building trust with customers through educational content and tools, providing consultative support, and advocating with proactive insights and recommendations.
- Engaging with customers to acquire and deepen relationships by providing advice and guidance.
- Identifying customer financial needs to promote and educate on products, services, and refer them to the appropriate team member or internal Bank partner.
- Servicing the customer, on both the teller line and platform with the ability to service customers with opening/closing personal deposit accounts, everyday bank transactions, debit card/credit card issues, regulation E, mobile and online (digital) banking.
Education & Experience
While a high school diploma or GED is required, a year of experience working with customers in any capacity is preferred. This could be demonstrated through volunteering, education, or military experience. Other preferred skills include customer service abilities, teller experience, and strong organization skills to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Customer and Shareholder Accountabilities
Banking Associates are expected to provide legendary customer service while transacting, promoting, educating, and referring TD Products to new and existing customers. They manage wait times, engage in lobby leadership, understand and support the Bank’s customer service strategy, and ensure tasks are performed within established policy and procedures. On the shareholder side, they ensure compliance with company guidelines and regulations such as the Bank Secrecy Act and the Patriot Act.
Physical Requirements and More
The role requires frequent sitting, standing, and walking, with occasional lifting/carrying of items under 25 lbs. It demands the ability to perform multiple tasks, operate standard office equipment, and concentrate for long periods of time.
