Role of a Banking Associate at TD
The Banking Associate plays a key role in delivering TD’s brand promise at a store location. This role is responsible for accurately completing everyday banking transactions and providing advice and educational support on services, products, and tools to help Customers achieve their financial goals. The Banking Associate performs a wide range of tasks across multiple areas within a Store location; including but not limited to processing customer transactions, opening new accounts, and educating customers on all banking products and services.
Depth & Scope of the Role
The role of a Banking Associate is multifaceted. Not only does the associate ensure the smooth operation of daily banking transactions, but they also engage with customers to acquire and deepen relationships by providing advice and guidance to ultimately attract, and retain the customer. They understand customer financial needs to identify opportunities to promote and educate on products, services, and/or refer them to the appropriate team member or internal Bank partner, while ensuring a positive customer experience.
Requirements for the Role
Applicants for the role of a Banking Associate must have a high school diploma or GED. They should have at least 1 year of experience working with customers in any capacity. This can be demonstrated through volunteering, education, or military experience. Other preferred skills include excellent communication skills, demonstrated effective problem-solving skills, strong organization skills to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. A Notary License is preferred but not mandatory.
Customer Accountabilities
The Banking Associate is responsible for providing legendary customer service while transacting, promoting, educating, and referring TD Products to new and existing customers. They establish and nurture customer relationships by consistently displaying product knowledge, actively listening to customer needs while engaging in additional conversations to identify any additional needs and offer a solution or partner referral.
Shareholder Accountabilities
The Banking Associate ensures compliance when completing operational activities in accordance with company guidelines and regulations such as Bank Secrecy Act and Patriot Act to minimize risk and protect the customer. They accurately process cash/deposit/withdrawal transactions and other account servicing requests.

Physical Requirements
