The Role of a Banking Associate

The Banking Associate plays a critical role in the Personal & Commercial Banking line of business at TD Bank. The individual is responsible for accurately completing everyday banking transactions and providing advice and educational support on services, products, and tools to help customers achieve their financial goals.

Key Responsibilities

This role encompasses a wide range of tasks such as processing customer transactions, opening new accounts, educating customers on banking products and services, providing consultative support, and advocating with proactive insights & recommendations. The Banking Associate will also utilize TD’s systems and tools to engage with customers, understand their financial needs, and promote relevant products and services.

Qualifications and Experience Required

TD Bank is seeking a candidate with a high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of experience working with customers. This experience can be demonstrated through volunteering, education, or military service. Teller experience is preferred, and the candidate must possess strong organizational skills, excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. A Notary License is also preferred.

Customer and Shareholder Accountabilities

The Banking Associate is expected to provide legendary customer service and establish strong customer relationships. They are responsible for managing wait times, scheduling customer meetings, and understanding and supporting the Bank’s customer service strategy. They must also ensure compliance with all regulations, policies, and procedures when completing operational activities.

As a team member, the Banking Associate is expected to contribute to a positive work environment, actively seek opportunities for improvement, and take ownership of their career and aspirations. They must also adhere to and participate in TD’s Shared Commitments and model quality service at every customer interaction.

Physical Requirements

The role requires frequent performing of sedentary work, operating standard office equipment, and responding quickly to sounds. Occasional domestic travel may also be required.
