Role and Responsibilities
The Banking Associate will be responsible for completing everyday banking transactions accurately, opening new accounts, and educating customers on all banking products and services. They will build trust with customers by providing advice and guidance, advocating proactive insights and recommendations, and using TD’s systems and tools to acquire and deepen customer relationships. The employee will also be accountable for identifying customer financial needs and referring them to the appropriate team member or internal bank partner, thereby ensuring a positive customer experience.
Customer and Shareholder Accountabilities
This role requires providing legendary customer service while transacting, promoting, educating and referring TD Products to new and existing customers. The Banking Associate is also expected to manage wait times and engage in lobby leadership, representing the first point of contact for customer inquiries. They should understand and support the Bank’s customer service strategy and consider the impact of decisions on the well-being of TD, its customers and stakeholders.
From a shareholder perspective, the Banking Associate must ensure compliance when completing operational activities in accordance with company guidelines and regulations such as Bank Secrecy Act and Patriot Act to minimize risk and protect the customer. They must also accurately process cash/deposit/withdrawal transactions and other account servicing requests.
Desired Qualifications and Skills
Applicants should possess a high school diploma or GED and have at least 1 year of experience working with customers in any capacity. Demonstrated Customer Service skills, strong organizational skills, excellent communication skills, effective problem-solving skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office are preferred. The ability to work during operating hours to include evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled is required, and teller experience is preferred. A Notary License is also advantageous.
