The Banking Associate Role at TD
The Banking Associate role is accountable for accurately completing everyday banking transactions and providing advice and educational support on services, products, and tools to help customers achieve their financial goals. This role is a key player in delivering TD’s Brand promise at a store location. The Banking Associate role falls under TD’s Personal & Commercial Banking Line of Business.
The Banking Associate performs a wide range of tasks across multiple areas within a store location, including processing customer transactions, opening new accounts, and educating customers on all banking products and services. The associate also delivers end-to-end advice, utilizing TD’s systems and tools to engage with customers, acquire and deepen relationships, and identify opportunities to promote and educate on products and services or refer them to the appropriate team member or internal Bank partner. This role requires strong organization skills, excellent communication abilities, effective problem-solving skills, and a knack for scheduling and prioritizing work.
Education and Experience Requirements
Candidates for the Banking Associate role must have a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of experience working with customers. This experience can come from any capacity and can be demonstrated through volunteering, education, or military experience. Preferred qualifications include teller experience, demonstrated customer service skills, and a Notary License. The ability to work during operating hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, is also required.
Customer and Shareholder Accountabilities
The Banking Associate is responsible for providing legendary customer service while transacting, promoting, and referring TD Products to new and existing customers. The role also involves managing wait times to meet with a Banker by scheduling, rescheduling, or canceling client meetings, and engaging in lobby leadership to help orchestrate the customer walk-in traffic.
From a shareholder’s perspective, the Banking Associate must ensure compliance when completing operational activities in accordance with company guidelines and regulations, such as the Bank Secrecy Act and the Patriot Act, to minimize risk and protect the customer.
Physical Requirements and Work Location
The Banking Associate position is based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and requires the ability to perform multiple tasks, operate standard office equipment, and respond quickly to sounds. The role requires frequent sitting, standing, and walking, with occasional domestic travel. Other physical requirements include occasional lifting/carrying (under 25 lbs. and over 25 lbs.), squatting, bending, kneeling, crawling, climbing, and reaching overhead and forward.
