This opportunity is for the role of a Banking Associate, a key professional in the banking sector who is responsible for accurately completing everyday banking transactions. This role also involves providing advice and educational support on services, products, and tools to help customers achieve their financial goals. For this role, the bank offers a base pay ranging from $22.00 – $27.75 USD per hour, with work hours set at 20 per week. The actual compensation may vary based on the candidate’s skills, experience, job-related knowledge, geographic location, and other specific business and organizational needs.
Responsibilities and Tasks of a TD Banking Associate
As a Banking Associate at TD, you will be tasked with a wide range of duties, all of which are designed to engage with customers and deepen relationships. Your role will include processing customer transactions, opening new accounts, and educating customers on all banking products and services. You will also be required to deliver end-to-end advice to customers, build trust through educational content and tools, provide consultative support, and advocate with proactive insights and recommendations.
This role also demands a strong understanding of customer financial needs. As a Banking Associate, you will identify opportunities to promote and educate on products, services, and refer customers to the appropriate team member or internal Bank partner. This approach ensures a positive customer experience. You will also be expected to accurately complete everyday banking transactions either on the teller line or on the platform while uncovering customer financial needs and educating on products, services, and tools or referring to the appropriate expert.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants for the Banking Associate position must have a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of experience working with customers. This experience can be demonstrated through any of the following: volunteering, education, or military experience. In addition, other preferred qualifications include demonstrated customer service skills, teller experience, strong organization skills, excellent communication skills, demonstrated effective problem-solving skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. A Notary License is also preferred.
Physical Requirements
While the position of Banking Associate is largely sedentary, it does require occasional domestic travel and frequent multiple tasks operating standard office equipment. The role also demands frequent sitting, standing, and walking, as well as occasional lifting/carrying items under 25 lbs. You will also need to be capable of concentrating for long periods of time, reading, writing, comprehending instructions, and performing basic numerical operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
