Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The core responsibility of the Banking Associate at TD is to deliver the brand’s promise at the store location. This includes accurately completing everyday banking transactions, providing advice, and educational support on services, products, and tools to help customers achieve their financial goals. The role requires a broad understanding of multiple areas within the banking environment.

The Banking Associate’s duties extend from processing customer transactions to opening new accounts and educating customers on the entire range of banking products and services. The associate is expected to build trust with educational content, provide consultative support, and advocate with proactive insights & recommendations. The ultimate goal is to attract and retain customers by meeting their financial needs and providing a positive customer experience.

Education and Experience

The ideal candidate for this role should have a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of experience working with customers in any capacity. This experience could be in the form of volunteering, education, or military service. Other preferred qualifications include demonstrated customer service skills, the ability to work during operating hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and teller experience. Candidates should also possess strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and demonstrated problem-solving skills.

Customer and Shareholder Accountabilities

The Banking Associate is expected to provide legendary customer service consistently, establish and nurture customer relationships, manage wait times, and understand and support the Bank’s customer service strategy. They also need to ensure tasks are performed within established policy and procedures and comply with TD Code of Conduct.

From a shareholder’s perspective, the associate is responsible for ensuring compliance when completing operational activities according to company guidelines and regulations. This includes accurately processing cash/deposit/withdrawal transactions, decision-making for everyday transactions, and maintaining cash limits and secure cash drawers.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

The role requires the associate to engage in a variety of physical activities, including sitting, standing, walking, and occasionally lifting/carrying items under or over 25 lbs. It also requires the ability to concentrate for long periods of time, read, write and comprehend instructions, and perform mathematical operations.
