Understanding the Role
The Banking Associate’s role is multifaceted. You will be responsible for accurately completing everyday banking transactions, providing advice and educational support on services, products, and tools to help customers achieve their financial goals. You will perform a variety of tasks within the store location, including processing customer transactions, opening new accounts, and educating customers on banking products and services.
Depth and Scope of the Position
As a Banking Associate, you will engage with customers to deepen relationships by providing advice and guidance. Your understanding of customer financial needs will enable you to identify opportunities to promote and educate on products, services, and refer them to the appropriate team member or internal bank partner. You will also be responsible for accurately completing everyday banking transactions, servicing customers with account opening and closing, performing everyday bank transactions, and addressing debit card/credit card issues.
A Glimpse into the Job Requirements
The job requires a high school diploma or GED and 1-year experience working with customers, which can be demonstrated through volunteering, education, or military experience. Teller experience and a Notary License are preferred. You must have strong organizational skills, excellent communication skills, demonstrated problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and within deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is a must.
Customer Accountabilities
Your role as a Banking Associate will involve consistently providing legendary customer service while transacting, promoting, educating, and referring TD products to new and existing customers. You will be responsible for managing customer relationships, understanding and supporting the bank’s customer service strategy, and making decisions that consider the well-being of TD, its customers, and stakeholders.
Shareholder Accountabilities
You will be required to comply with company guidelines and regulations such as the Bank Secrecy Act and Patriot Act to minimize risk and protect the customer. Your duties include accurately processing cash/deposit/withdrawal transactions and other account servicing requests, ensuring compliance with all regulations, policies, and procedures, and following customer authentication principles.
