A Look at the Role of a Banking Associate

The Banking Associate plays a pivotal role in upholding TD’s Brand promise at a store location. This position is responsible for accurately completing everyday banking transactions and providing advice and educational support on services, products, and tools to help customers achieve their financial goals.

As a Banking Associate, you will perform a wide range of tasks across multiple areas within a store location. This includes processing customer transactions, opening new accounts, and educating customers on all banking products and services. You will be responsible for building trust with customers through educational content & tools, providing consultative support, and advocating with proactive insights & recommendations.

Your Responsibilities

You will utilize TD’s systems and tools to engage with customers to acquire and deepen relationships. You will understand customer financial needs to identify opportunities to promote and educate on products, services, and refer them to the appropriate team member or internal Bank partner.

Accuracy is key in this role as you will be responsible for everyday banking transactions either on the teller line or on the platform, while uncovering customer financial needs and educating on products, services and tools. You will also service customers with opening/closing personal deposit accounts, everyday bank transactions, debit card/credit card issues, regulation E, mobile and on-line (digital) banking.

What Qualifications Do You Need?

To thrive in this role, you should have a high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of experience working with customers. This experience can be demonstrated through volunteering, education, or military experience. You should have strong organizational skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and within deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is also required, and a Notary License is preferred.

Physical Requirements of the Role

The role of a Banking Associate does require some physical demands. These include performing multiple tasks, operating standard office equipment, responding quickly to sounds, standing and walking frequently, lifting/carrying items occasionally, and the ability to deal with problems involving standardized situations.
