Job Description and Responsibilities
The Banking Associate’s role is multi-faceted, involving a wide range of tasks that are essential to providing excellent banking services. These tasks include processing customer transactions, opening new accounts, and educating customers on banking products and services. The Banking Associate also plays a critical role in building trust with customers, providing consultative support, and advocating with proactive insights and recommendations.
Education and Experience Requirements
Prospective candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, and at least one year of experience working with customers in any capacity. Other preferred credentials include demonstrated customer service skills, teller experience, strong organizational skills, excellent communication skills, effective problem-solving skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and a Notary License.
Customer and Shareholder Accountabilities
The Banking Associate is expected to provide legendary customer service consistently. This involves establishing and nurturing customer relationships through active listening, identifying their financial needs, and offering solutions or partner referrals. On the shareholder front, the associate is responsible for ensuring compliance when completing operational activities in accordance with company guidelines and regulations such as the Bank Secrecy Act and the Patriot Act to minimize risk and protect the customer.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
The role of a Banking Associate requires the ability to perform sedentary work frequently, operate standard office equipment continuously, and respond quickly to sounds. The position also demands the ability to handle multiple tasks continuously, and to perform tasks such as lifting/carrying items under and over 25 lbs. occasionally.
