Role and Responsibilities
The Banking Associate, a pivotal figure in the banking industry, is responsible for accurately completing everyday banking transactions and providing advice and educational support on services, products, and tools to help customers achieve their financial goals. This role plays a key role in delivering TD’s Brand promise at a store location.
The scope of the Banking Associate’s responsibilities is vast, including processing customer transactions, opening new accounts, providing consultative support, advocating with proactive insights & recommendations, and educating customers on all banking products and services. The associate also uses TD’s systems and tools to engage with customers to acquire and deepen relationships.
Understand customer financial needs are crucial to identify opportunities to promote and educate on products, services, or refer them to the appropriate team member or internal Bank partner, while ensuring a positive customer experience.
Skills and Experience
Successful candidates require a high school diploma or GED, along with at least one year of customer service experience. This experience can come from any capacity, including volunteering, education, or military experience. The role demands excellent communication skills, strong organization skills, and the ability to be concise, clear, and consistent. A Notary License is preferred but not required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is also a plus.
Customer Accountabilities
The Banking Associate is expected to consistently provide legendary customer service while transacting, promoting, educating, and referring TD Products to new and existing customers. The associate also establishes and nurtures customer relationships by consistently displaying product knowledge, actively listening to customer needs while engaging in additional conversations to identify any additional needs and offer a solution or partner referral.
Shareholder Accountabilities
From a shareholder’s perspective, the Banking Associate ensures compliance when completing operational activities in accordance with company guidelines and regulations such as Bank Secrecy Act and Patriot Act to minimize risk and protect the customer. The associate also accurately processes cash/deposit/withdrawal transactions and other account servicing requests.
