Key Responsibilities of a Banking Associate

The Banking Associate plays a crucial role in delivering TD’s brand promise, providing customers with accurate and complete everyday banking transactions. Additionally, they offer advice and educational support on services, products, and tools to help customers attain their financial goals.

Scope of the Role

The Banking Associate performs a broad range of tasks within a store location, including processing customer transactions, opening new accounts, and educating customers on all banking products and services. They build trust by providing consultative support and advocating with proactive insights and recommendations. The Banking Associate is also responsible for understanding customer financial needs and promoting and educating on products and services that meet these needs.

Qualifications and Skills Required

The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or GED, along with at least one year of customer service experience, which could be demonstrated through volunteering, education, or military service. Other key skills include excellent communication, effective problem-solving, ability to schedule and prioritize work, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Teller experience and a Notary License are preferred.

Commitment to Customer and Shareholder Accountabilities

The Banking Associate is expected to consistently provide legendary customer service while transacting, promoting, educating, and referring TD Products to both new and existing customers. They must understand and support the Bank’s customer service strategy, considering the impact of decisions on the well-being of TD, its customers, and stakeholders.

The Banking Associate also ensures compliance with company guidelines and regulations such as the Bank Secrecy Act and Patriot Act to minimize risk and protect the customer while performing operational activities.

The employee must contribute to a positive work environment by aligning with TD’s model, brand, and culture. They should actively seek opportunities to improve delivery of work with high attention to quality standards and participate fully as a member of the team.

Physical Requirements of the Role

The role requires occasional domestic travel and the ability to perform sedentary work frequently. Other requirements include frequent standing and walking, occasional lifting or carrying up to 25 lbs, and the ability to concentrate for long periods of time.
