Banking Associate Role Details

The job opening for a Banking Associate is based in Columbia, South Carolina, United States of America. The successful candidate will be expected to work 20 hours per week, with a base pay ranging from $22.00 to $27.75 USD per hour. The actual offered pay may vary based on the candidate’s skills, experience, job-related knowledge, geographic location, and other specific business and organizational needs.

Job Description and Responsibilities

The Banking Associate plays a key role in delivering TD’s brand promise at a store location. In this role, the associate is responsible for accurately completing everyday banking transactions, providing advice and educational support on services, products, and tools to help customers achieve their financial goals. The associate will perform a wide range of tasks across multiple areas within a store location, including processing customer transactions, opening new accounts, and educating customers on all banking products and services. The associate will also need to build trust with educational content & tools, provide consultative support, and advocate with proactive insights & recommendations. The associate will use TD’s systems and tools to engage with customers to acquire and deepen relationships by providing advice and guidance to ultimately attract, and retain the customer.

Education and Experience Requirements

The ideal candidate should possess a high school diploma or GED, with at least one year of experience working with customers in any capacity. This experience can be demonstrated through volunteering, education, or military experience. Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated customer service skills. The candidate should have the ability to work during operating hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as scheduled. Teller experience is preferred, and the candidate is required to complete teller training and part 1 of platform training upon hire. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and possession of a Notary License is also preferred.

Customer, Shareholder, and Employee/Team Accountabilities

The Banking Associate is expected to consistently provide legendary customer service while transacting, promoting, educating, and referring TD Products to new and existing customers. The associate should ensure compliance when completing operational activities in accordance with company guidelines and regulations. The associate is expected to contribute to a positive work environment by aligning to TD Model, Brand, and Culture. Furthermore, the associate should actively seek opportunities to improve delivery of work with high attention to quality standards.

Physical Requirements and Other Information

Domestic travel may be occasionally required for the role. The job involves performing sedentary work frequently and requires the ability to perform multiple tasks continuously. The job may also require occasional lifting or carrying of items under 25 lbs. The candidate should be able to apply common sense to deal with problems involving standardized situations and be proficient in reading, writing, and comprehending instructions.
