Key Responsibilities of a Banking Associate
The Banking Associate plays an essential role in delivering TD’s brand promise at the store location. They are accountable for accurately completing everyday banking transactions and providing advice and educational support on services, products, and tools to customers. The role’s depth and scope include a wide range of tasks such as processing customer transactions, opening new accounts, and educating customers on all banking products and services. The associate also delivers end-to-end advice that customers expect, building trust, providing consultative support, and advocating proactive insights & recommendations. The Banking Associate utilizes TD’s systems and tools to engage with Customers, acquire, and deepen relationships, ultimately attracting and retaining the customer.
Education & Experience Requirements
For this role, a high school diploma or GED is required. Additionally, one year of experience working with customers in any capacity is preferred. This experience can be demonstrated through volunteering, education, or military experience. Other preferred skills include demonstrated customer service skills, teller experience, and strong organizational skills. The candidate should be proficient in Microsoft Office and have the ability to work independently, within deadlines, and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Customer Accountabilities
The Banking Associate is accountable for consistently providing legendary customer service while transacting, promoting, educating, and referring TD Products to new and existing customers. They establish and nurture customer relationships by actively listening to customer needs while engaging in additional conversations to identify any additional needs and offer a solution or partner referral. The associate also manages wait times to meet with a Banker by scheduling, rescheduling, or canceling client meetings. They engage in lobby leadership and represent the first point of contact for customer inquiries.
Shareholder Accountabilities
The Banking Associate ensures compliance with all regulations, policies, and procedures adhering to required controls, critical dates, and accurate documents. They accurately process cash/deposit/withdrawal transactions and other account servicing requests. The associate acts as a Dual Control agent when required and follows all required open/close procedures.
