Key Responsibilities of a Bank Services Representative
As a Bank Services Representative, you will play a critical role in maintaining the smooth operation of our office and establishing strong customer relationships. Your responsibilities will span across three key areas:
1. Office Operations
Your daily tasks will involve processing a wide range of financial transactions accurately, including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and check cashing. You’ll handle cash balancing and financial transactions carefully to minimize errors. Additionally, you’ll open and manage retail deposit accounts, ensuring precision in tasks like updating signature cards and address changes. Supporting overall office functions will also be part of your role to guarantee smooth operations every day.
2. Customer Service & Relationship Building
As the face of our bank, you’ll provide top-notch service to both existing and prospective customers, fostering trust, and building lasting professional relationships. You’ll be a knowledgeable resource for customer inquiries regarding our products and services. Maintaining a positive and approachable demeanor while assisting customers at the Bank Services Representative window is imperative.
3. Professional Growth & Compliance
Part of your role involves staying current with bank policies, products, services, and industry regulations to ensure all operations meet legal and regulatory standards. You’ll participate in ongoing training to refine your skills, including understanding federal and state regulations and compliance procedures. Adherence to all relevant banking laws, like the Bank Secrecy Act and FinCEN Regulations, is crucial.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
Expect an active work environment with periods of standing, sitting, and walking. You should be able to lift up to 60 lbs. when necessary. The job is primarily office-based, with direct interaction with customers, providing excellent service at the bank’s service windows.
Qualifications
Ideal candidates should possess a High School Diploma or equivalent. Prior experience in cash handling, sales, customer service, or banking is a plus. You must have experience with computer programs used throughout the workday. Strong communication skills, accuracy, organization, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are essential.
