Job Description: Bank Operations Vault Specialist

Here at Regions, the role of a Bank Operations Vault Specialist is integral to our operations. The Specialist is responsible for supplying one or more functional units with coin and currency. The job involves a range of tasks, each critical to the smooth running of our banking operations.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Maintaining established levels of vault cash
  • Ordering cash from the Federal Reserve Bank as needed
  • Verifying sums of coin and currency received from functional units, customers, and branch associates
  • Contacting the appropriate sender in case of error
  • Shipping excess coin and currency to the Federal Reserve Bank or other functional units as needed
  • Performing vault support services tasks
  • Answering inquiries via phone, email, and ticketing system
  • Assisting with escalated problems as needed
  • Providing advice and guidance to less experienced associates as needed

The position is full-time and requires the tracking of time, with eligibility for overtime for hours worked in excess of 40 per week under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Two (2) years of banking or branch experience
  • For positions within physical vaults, the ability to lift 50 pounds

Preferred Skills and Competencies

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Strong math skills
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and organizational skills
  • Strong work ethic and self-motivation
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds is strongly preferred
  • Previous strong cash handling experience

Please note, this is not a remote position and applicants must be in proximity to Jackson, MS.

Compensation Details

Pay at Regions is determined by a number of factors, including experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location, and most importantly, performance in the job role. The target information provided here is based on the Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range for the position located in Jackson, MS.

Minimum: $36,000.00 USD

Median: $43,416.00 USD

This job is not eligible for incentives.
