Essential Job Functions
As a Business Banking Relationship Manager, the professional would develop and manage business relationships, understanding the unique needs of customers to provide appropriate financial solutions. The role involves proactively identifying opportunities and cross-selling Bank products and services, including Treasury Management and Merchant opportunities. This position requires the individual to identify, pursue, and close sales opportunities for a broad range of financial products and services.
Another important aspect is collaboration with internal teams to ensure smooth transaction processing and client satisfaction. Moreover, representing the Bank in the community through active participation in professional organizations and community events is also a part of this role. The Manager might also be assigned other duties as per the bank’s requirements.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
This role necessitates a comprehensive understanding of the business banking market, including customer needs, competitive landscape, and regulatory environment. A general knowledge of the Bank’s products and services, along with general knowledge of financial products and services for business clients, is also crucial.
Effective communication, both verbally and in writing, is essential, including the ability to present financial information accurately. Demonstrating initiative to meet sales goals and drive growth and innovation is also a part of the job. The ability to work both collaboratively and independently, demonstrate effective strategic, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills are other necessary abilities.
Moreover, understanding loan risks and making sound financial decisions, demonstrating a high degree of integrity, and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously are also essential. Being proficient in banking systems and software, along with Microsoft Office, is another requirement.
Basic Qualifications
The basic qualifications for this role include a Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a job-related field. In terms of work experience, 4+ years of experience in business banking sales and client relations or related sales and relationship management experience in a banking or financial environment is mandatory. Additionally, 2+ years of experience in credit analysis and risk assessment in a financial institution is preferred.
