Key Responsibilities
The Associate Bank Financial Advisor role at Wells Fargo entails a number of responsibilities. Firstly, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in the comprehensive Wells Fargo Advisors training program. This program is designed to equip individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge to meet personal, professional, and organizational client service and financial goals within the Financial Advisory – Bank function.
Another key aspect of the role involves reviewing the client’s basic or tactical financial goals and risk tolerance. The Advisor will assess the client’s investment profile and evaluate their financial needs related to lower risk tasks and deliverables with narrower impact. This will ensure that clients receive tailored financial advice and services that align with their unique financial objectives and risk appetite.
This role also involves customer contact and job duties may include assessing and referring those customers interested in a dwelling secured product to a SAFE team member. The Associate Bank Financial Advisor will assist customers without taking an application and without offering or negotiating terms of a dwelling secured transaction. Individuals in this position will also need to meet the Loan Originator requirements under Regulation Z (LO).
Qualifications and Expectations
Wells Fargo is looking for candidates with at least 6 months of Customer Service, Sales, Relationship Building experience. This experience can be demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, education, or a combination of these. The successful candidate will also have to have successfully completed the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam or equivalent.
Desirable qualifications include FINRA registration which includes Series 7 and 66, or FINRA recognized equivalents. Financial services experience, client services experience, and a minimum of 6 months of client or sales services experience are also highly desirable. Other preferred qualifications include experience in developing and managing client relationships, sales or sales support experience, and a BS/BA degree or higher.
It is important to note that individuals in Loan Originator (LO) positions must meet the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau qualification requirements and comply with related Wells Fargo policies. The LO qualification requirements include meeting applicable financial responsibility, character, general financial fitness, and criminal background standards. There are also ongoing regulatory requirements that successful candidates must meet, including additional screening if necessary.
