Compensation Range
Hourly: $27.41 – $27.41 (The amount is based on relevant experience, skills, and competencies.)
About This Job
Commerce Bank offers an exceptional Trainee program geared towards those seeking to build their foundational skills in the financial industry. This opportunity provides extensive departmental training on credit analysis, formal commercial training classes, and an overview of various bank-wide departments including Leasing and Retail Administration Treasury Services, Commercial Banking, Commercial Card, Capital Markets, Trust, and the Strategic Planning Office. Graduates of this program are well-positioned for rewarding opportunities within the Commerce Bank organization.
Essential Functions
- Conducting comprehensive financial analyses on companies of diverse industries and sizes
- Working with experienced commercial bankers to conduct comprehensive financial analyses for commercial loan requests
- Researching key underwriting criteria including loan structure, cash flow, collateral, competition, and industry considerations
- Performing other duties as assigned
Knowledge Skills & Abilities Required
- Knowledge of the banking/accounting/finance field
- Strong analytical skills with a foundation in financial and accounting principles
- Ability to build strong relationships with people from all walks of life
- Self-motivated and organized with a keen attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Inquisitive, agile, and strong team player with excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Adaptability and resilience to all situations with an optimistic outlook that aligns with our culture and Core Values
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to maintain a valid driver’s license and meet Commerce Bank’s driving record criteria; ongoing employment may be contingent upon meeting all driving requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in a business-related field, with a preference for majors in Finance or Accounting (9 hours Finance/6 hours Accounting)
- 1+ years of banking and/or financial services experience preferred
- Demonstrated sales experience (retail, banking, etc.) preferred
