With this passion for data, Capital One is seeking a talented individual to fill the critical leadership position of Director for the Small Business Bank Data Analysis team. This role involves working closely with all Small Business Bank departments to understand their current data needs and shape future data asset strategy. The successful candidate will be instrumental in creating a transformed data ecosystem, enabling Capital One to build a national digital Small Business Bank and deliver a market-leading data-driven customer experience to small business owners.
Role and Responsibilities of the Director, Data Analysis
The Director of Data Analysis for Small Business Banking will be tasked with multiple responsibilities. These include developing and executing data management strategy, defining and monitoring Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), overseeing the design and execution of data controls, and managing data quality monitoring and data issue management practices. The successful candidate will also be expected to monitor the health of data catalog metadata and manage a team of high performing data professionals.
Qualifications for the Position
Capital One has outlined both basic and preferred qualifications for this position. The basic qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field) plus at least 8 years of experience performing data analytics. Alternatively, a Master’s Degree plus at least 6 years of experience performing data analytics is acceptable. The successful candidate must have at least 6 years of experience performing professional data analysis work, 6 years of experience leading and developing with open source data technologies, and 4 years of experience managing people.
Preferred qualifications for this position include a Master’s Degree, 10+ years of Professional Data Analysis experience, 5+ years of Big Data experience (AWS and Spark), 5+ years of cloud native (AWS) data processing experience, 5+ years of Process Management experience, 5+ years of Project Management experience, 5+ years of experience with Python, 5+ years of Data Governance experience, and 2+ years of experience with streaming data technologies (Kafka, Flink, Spark streaming).
Salary and Benefits
The annual salary for the Director, Data Analysis position ranges from $205,400 to $257,900, depending on the location. The role is also eligible to earn performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives.
