Role and Responsibilities of a Banking Associate
The Banking Associate plays a crucial role in delivering TD’s brand promise at a store location. This role involves processing everyday banking transactions, providing advice on services and products, and offering educational support to customers to help them achieve their financial goals. The depth and scope of this role are significant, with responsibilities ranging from opening new accounts to providing consultative support and advocating with proactive insights and recommendations.
The Banking Associate utilizes TD’s systems and tools to engage with customers for relationship building and financial advice. They identify opportunities to promote and educate on products and services, refer customers to appropriate team members or internal Bank partners, and ensure a positive customer experience. They are also responsible for managing self-generated leads, customer outreach, and appointment setting, among other tasks.
Education and Experience Requirements
An ideal candidate for this role should have a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of customer service experience. This experience can come from various fields, including volunteering, education, or military service. Teller experience is preferred, and the candidate should also possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills, the ability to work independently and meet deadlines, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and strong organizational skills. A Notary License is preferred but not mandatory.
Customer and Shareholder Accountabilities
As a Banking Associate, you’ll be expected to consistently provide legendary customer service while promoting and educating customers on TD’s products. You’ll also have responsibilities in managing customer inquiries, wait times for appointments, and ensuring compliance with internal and external audit and regulatory requirements. In terms of shareholder accountabilities, you’ll ensure compliance with company guidelines and regulations, accurately process transactions, and follow all required open and close procedures.
