A Closer Look at the Role

As a Banking Associate, you will play a pivotal role in delivering TD’s brand promise at a store location. You will be responsible for accurately completing everyday banking transactions, providing advice, and offering educational support on services, products, and tools to help customers achieve their financial goals.

The role requires a wide range of tasks within a store location, including processing customer transactions, opening new accounts, and educating customers on all banking products and services. You will be expected to build trust with educational content and tools, provide consultative support, and offer proactive insights and recommendations. These tasks will not only help attract and retain customers but also deepen their relationship with TD Bank.

Requirements for the Role

The minimum educational requirement for this position is a high school diploma or GED. You need to have at least one year of experience working with customers in any capacity. This experience can be demonstrated through volunteering, education, or military experience. Excellent communication skills, ability to work during operating hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and strong organizational skills are also required for this role.

Customer Service at Its Best

Providing legendary customer service is at the heart of this role. You will be expected to establish and nurture customer relationships, display product knowledge, and actively listen to customer needs. You will also be the first point of contact for customer inquiries and the one to orchestrate the customer walk-in traffic.

Shareholder and Employee Accountabilities

While providing customer service, the Banking Associate is also responsible for ensuring compliance with company guidelines and regulations such as the Bank Secrecy Act and the Patriot Act. This is crucial in minimizing risk and protecting the customer.

Internally, the banking associate is expected to contribute to a positive work environment by aligning to TD’s model, brand, and culture. They will also play a part in personal performance and development activities, act as a brand champion, and collaborate with team members to contribute to the success of the team and organization.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands for this role include frequent sitting, standing, walking, and performing multiple tasks. Occasionally, the role may require lifting or carrying items under and over 25 lbs. The role also requires the ability to concentrate for long periods of time and apply common sense to deal with problems involving standardized situations.
