Delivering TD’s Brand Promise as a Banking Associate
The Banking Associate role plays a key part in delivering TD’s Brand promise. This person is accountable for accurately completing everyday banking transactions, providing advice, and offering educational support on services, products, and tools to help customers achieve their financial goals. The role requires performing a wide range of tasks across multiple areas within a store location, from processing customer transactions to opening new accounts and educating customers on all banking products and services.
Depth & Scope of the Role
The Banking Associate is responsible for delivering end-to-end advice to customers, building trust with educational content & tools, providing consultative support, and advocating with proactive insights & recommendations. The associate will use TD’s systems and tools to engage with customers, deepen relationships, and attract and retain customers. The associate will also understand the customer’s financial needs to identify opportunities to promote and educate on products and services, or refer them to the appropriate team member or internal Bank partner, ensuring a positive customer experience.
Education & Experience
The ideal candidate for the Banking Associate role will have a high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of experience working with customers in any capacity. This could be demonstrated through volunteering, education, or military experience. Teller experience is preferred, and the candidate must have strong organization skills, excellent communication skills, effective problem-solving skills, and a demonstrated ability to work independently and within deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required, and a Notary License is preferred.
Customer Accountabilities
As a Banking Associate, you will consistently provide legendary customer service while transacting, promoting, educating, and referring TD Products to new and existing customers. You will establish and nurture customer relationships by actively listening to their needs, engaging in additional conversations to identify any additional needs, and offering a solution or partner referral. You will also manage wait times to meet with a Banker by scheduling, rescheduling, or cancelling client meetings and represent the first point of contact for customer inquiries.
Shareholder Accountabilities
The Banking Associate is also responsible for ensuring compliance while completing operational activities in accordance with company guidelines and regulations. This includes accurately processing cash/deposit/withdrawal transactions and other account servicing requests, ensuring compliance with all regulations, policies, and procedures, and following policy and procedure for Customer Authentication.

As a member of the TD team, the Banking Associate is expected to contribute to a positive work environment, be an active participant in personal performance and development activities, and act as a brand champion both internally and externally. The position may also involve training and mentoring newer colleagues.
Physical Requirements
The role of Banking Associate involves performing multiple tasks and operating standard office equipment. It requires responding quickly to sounds, sitting, standing, and walking frequently. The role also involves occasional lifting/carrying of items under 25 lbs and over 25 lbs, and occasional bending, kneeling, crawling, climbing, and reaching overhead. The role demands concentration for long periods of time and the application of common sense to deal with problems involving standardized situations.
