Job Description and Responsibilities
The Banking Associate is a professional in banking and plays a crucial role in delivering TD’s brand promise. This role involves accurately completing everyday banking transactions, providing advice, and offering educational support on services, products, and tools to help customers achieve their financial goals. The associate performs a wide range of tasks across multiple areas within a store location, including processing customer transactions, opening new accounts, and educating customers on banking products and services.
Furthermore, the associate is expected to understand customer financial needs to identify opportunities to promote and educate on products and services, and/or refer them to the appropriate team member or internal Bank partner. The role requires excellent communication skills with a focus on building trust with customers through educational content and tools, consultative support, and proactive insights and recommendations.
Education and Experience
The ideal candidate for the Banking Associate role should possess a high school diploma or GED. One year of experience working with customers in any capacity is preferred. This can be demonstrated through various means, including volunteering, education, or military experience.
Other desirable skills and attributes include demonstrated customer service skills, teller experience, strong organizational skills, excellent communication skills, effective problem-solving skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. The candidate should also have the ability to work independently and within deadlines, and demonstrate sound judgment in decision-making and problem-solving. A Notary License is preferred.
