Role & Responsibilities
The Banking Associate holds a significant role within TD, being accountable for completing everyday banking transactions, opening new accounts, and providing advice and support on banking services, products, and tools. The Banking Associate is expected to perform a wide variety of tasks within the store, from processing customer transactions to educating customers about banking products and services. The associate will also be responsible for uncovering customer financial needs and providing advice and solutions accordingly.
Customer interactions are at the forefront of the Banking Associate role, with the associate expected to build trust and provide consultative support to customers. The associate will utilize TD’s systems and tools to engage with customers, attract them, and deepen relationships. Through these interactions, the associate will identify opportunities to promote and educate customers on TD’s products and services, ultimately improving customer experience and retention.
Education & Experience
The ideal candidate for this position will have a high school diploma or GED, with at least one year of customer service experience, which could be demonstrated through volunteering, education, or military experience. Teller experience is preferred, and the selected candidate will be required to complete Teller training and part 1 of platform training upon hire. Other necessary skills for this role include excellent communication, effective problem-solving, strong organization, and the ability to work independently and within deadlines.
Customer & Shareholder Accountabilities
As a Banking Associate, you will be expected to consistently provide legendary customer service while transacting, promoting, educating and referring TD Products to new and existing customers. You will also be responsible for establishing and nurturing customer relationships, managing wait times for customer meetings, and engaging in lobby leadership. Furthermore, you will be accountable for ensuring compliance with company guidelines and regulations such as Bank Secrecy Act and Patriot Act to minimize risk and protect the customer.

The Banking Associate will also be expected to contribute to a positive work environment by aligning with TD’s model, brand, and culture. Physical Requirements
The Banking Associate’s role also comes with specific physical requirements. These include performing multiple tasks, operating standard office equipment, sitting, standing, walking, and lifting/carrying items under 25 lbs. on an occasional basis. The associate must also be able to concentrate for long periods of time and apply common sense to deal with problems involving standardized situations.
