The Role of the Banking Associate at TD

The Banking Associate role is a dynamic one, encompassing a wide range of tasks within a store location. These include processing customer transactions, opening new accounts, and educating customers on all banking products and services. The role requires the ability to deliver end-to-end advice, build trust with educational content and tools, provide consultative support, and advocate proactive insights and recommendations. This role also involves understanding customer financial needs to identify opportunities to promote and educate on products and services.

Furthermore, the Banking Associate is required to accurately complete everyday banking transactions either on the teller line or on the platform while uncovering customer financial needs. The role also involves servicing customers with opening/closing personal deposit accounts, everyday bank transactions, and issues related to debit cards, credit cards, regulation E, mobile, and online (digital) banking.

Qualifications and Experience Required

Applicants need to have a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of experience working with customers. This experience could be demonstrated through volunteering, education, or military experience. Strong organizational skills, excellent communication skills, and an ability to work independently and meet deadlines are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is also required, and having a Notary License is preferred.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

The Banking Associate is expected to consistently provide legendary customer service and establish and nurture customer relationships by displaying product knowledge and actively listening to customer needs. Managing wait times, engaging in lobby leadership, understanding and supporting the Bank’s customer service strategy, and considering the impact of decisions on the well-being of TD, its customers, and stakeholders are all integral parts of the role.

In terms of shareholder accountabilities, the Banking Associate needs to ensure compliance with all regulations, policies, and procedures, as well as accurately and efficiently perform transactions. They also need to be accountable for cash drawers and follow all required open/close procedures.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

The Banking Associate role involves performing multiple tasks, operating standard office equipment, and responding quickly to sounds. It also requires sitting, standing, and walking frequently. Occasionally, the role may require domestic travel and performing physical activities such as lifting/carrying items under and over 25 lbs.
