Role and Responsibilities
The Banking Associate is a key player in delivering TD’s brand promise at the store location. This role involves accurately completing day-to-day banking transactions and providing advice and support on services, products, and tools to help customers achieve their financial goals. The position requires an understanding of the customers’ financial needs to identify opportunities to promote and educate on products, services, and refer them to the appropriate team member or internal bank partner.
Depth and Scope of the Role
The Banking Associate is expected to perform a variety of tasks across multiple areas within the store location. This includes processing customer transactions, opening new accounts, and educating customers on all banking products and services. Additionally, the associate will deliver end-to-end advice to customers, build trust with educational content & tools, provide consultative support, and advocate with proactive insights & recommendations. The associate will also utilize TD’s systems and tools to engage with customers and deepen relationships.
Education & Experience
For this position, a high school diploma or GED is required. Preferred candidates have at least one year of experience working with customers in any capacity, which can be demonstrated through volunteering, education, or military experience. Teller experience is also preferred. The successful candidate will have strong organizational and communication skills, effective problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and within deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is also required, and having a Notary License is preferred.
Customer and Shareholder Accountabilities
The Banking Associate is responsible for providing legendary customer service while transacting, promoting, educating, and referring TD Products to new and existing customers. The associate should understand and support the Bank’s customer service strategy and consider the impact of decisions on the well-being of TD, its customers, and stakeholders. The associate is also expected to adhere to compliance regulations and due diligence for new account openings and transactions.

Physical Requirements
The job entails certain physical requirements. Frequent sedentary work, standing, walking, and occasional lifting or carrying are part of the role. The associate is also expected to respond quickly to sounds, operate standard office equipment, and perform multiple tasks.
