They have the responsibility to understand and work with Government Banking clients, a role that requires specialized knowledge and expertise in sales and relationship management.

The TMC is expected to independently develop and maintain relationships with clients with a focus on expanding existing business. The role involves managing treasury management product risk and ensuring that all Capital One credit policies and other risks, such as reputational and legal, are adhered to and mitigated.

As a TMC, one also plays a significant role in the market by actively engaging in local industry associations, conferences, networking groups, and community associations. This helps to establish the brand in the marketplace and deepen relationships within the industry.

Qualifications for a Treasury Management Consultant & Relationship Manager

The qualifications required for a Treasury Management Consultant and Relationship Manager are quite extensive. The role requires at least a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent certification. It also demands at least six years of experience in financial services and at least five years each in sales and treasury management.

Preferred qualifications include government banking experience, a bachelor’s degree or military experience, in-depth to advanced treasury management product knowledge, and a Certified Treasury Professional designation or equivalent certification. In addition, proficiency in Google Workspace or Microsoft Business products and effective oral and written communication skills are crucial.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation for this role varies by location. For example, in Melville and New York, NY, the full-time annual salary ranges between $168,700 – $192,500 for a Treasury Management Consultant III. In Philadelphia, PA, and Wilmington, DE, the range is $140,600 – $160,400.
