Key Responsibilities of the Business Banking Lender
The lender will be primarily responsible for generating new loans for operating companies as well as for investment in real estate. The lender will inherit an existing portfolio and will be entrusted with the critical task of adding more business relationships to grow this portfolio. The lender will be expected to collaborate closely with Treasury Management to assist in developing new deposit relationships, and with the retail banking centers within their assigned territory to attract new business.
The lender will also collaborate with internal departments such as Private Banking, Corporate Banking, and Commercial Real Estate to refer new business. This role is crucial in expanding the businesses within our community by offering innovative lending solutions and becoming a reliable expert for all their banking needs.
Qualifications
Applicants for the lender position at Dollar Bank need to meet several qualifications. These include a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, as well as the ability to analyze financial statements and make loan recommendations. Dollar Bank is looking for a candidate with at least five years of experience in business lending, and who is capable of managing a portfolio of client relationships, including growth, retention, and expansion.
Strong written and oral communication skills are essential for interpreting and explaining financial data to other participants in the loan approval process. The lender must also be capable of learning and offering all products and services, with a special emphasis on business loan and deposit products. A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle are also required. Dollar Bank values self-motivated individuals with excellent communication skills.
Principal Activities and Duties
The lender is expected to establish an annual business development plan and goals that aim to foster Bank growth through mutually beneficial account relationships. They will need to develop and maintain business relationships through a sales-oriented calling program. The lender will also be required to complete call reports on all business visits, outlining the purpose of the call, business needs, financial information, and future focus for the business.
Moreover, the lender will also have to participate in community and civic functions, either in an advisory or active capacity, representing Dollar Bank, with emphasis on maintaining and developing business relationships. The lender will also manage and/or participate in any special assignments as requested by the Senior Vice President of Business Banking.
Working Conditions
The lender will need to be able to perform tasks that range from sedentary to light work, including lifting up to 20 pounds from floor to waist, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, grasp, or otherwise move objects. The role requires tasks that involve seeing, hearing, talking, and performing tasks that require manual dexterity and visual acuity. The lender should be able to sit, stand, walk, crouch, reach, pull, push, and other similar repetitive tasks requiring physical activity. They should also be able to operate standard office/computer equipment such as photocopiers, fax machines, computers, iPads, scanners, calculators, etc.

Compensation and Benefits
The compensation range for this position is between 87,000 – 95,000. Full-time employees are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with immediate vesting, tuition reimbursement, and gym membership reimbursement. Part-time employees qualify for 401(k) with immediate vesting, tuition reimbursement, and gym reimbursement.
