Key Responsibilities of a Banking Center Manager
You will take on various responsibilities in this role, all geared towards achieving the bank’s objectives and ensuring customer satisfaction:
Operational and Compliance Oversight
The Banking Center Manager will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring compliance in all operations of the banking center. This involves monitoring activities, setting protocols, and maintaining a keen eye for detail to ensure that all procedures are in line with regulatory standards.
Driving Sales and Marketing
As the Banking Center Manager, you will develop and implement aggressive sales and marketing strategies to drive deposit, loan, and partner referrals. This includes conducting regular outside sales calls, participating in business development activities, and marketing various banking functions.
Ensuring Service Excellence
Customer satisfaction is paramount at First Merchants Bank. As such, you will ensure that your team delivers upon the Gold Standard for Service expectations. This involves opening accounts, processing loan applications, resolving customer inquiries, and using service to sales techniques to provide financial solutions to customers.

Apart from customer satisfaction, employee satisfaction is equally important. As the Banking Center Manager, you will create and foster an enriching employee experience within the banking center. This includes implementing effective Sales Management routines, conducting weekly sales and pipeline meetings, and providing regular coaching and training to your staff.
Qualifications and Requirements
To excel in this role, you will need:
- A high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in sales, management, banking, or a related field, including serving in a lead or supervisory capacity.
- S.A.F.E Act registration at the time of employment through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS).
- A Notary Public designation within six (6) months of employment.
Additional skills and qualifications that would be a plus include a demonstrated ability to sell and cross-sell bank products and services, consumer lending experience, supervisory experience in the banking industry, the ability to manage a sales team, and a Bachelor’s degree.
