Job Responsibilities
The Branch Banking Assistant Leader is tasked with a variety of responsibilities, all aimed at promoting a high level of performance within the branch, and ensuring the very best client experience.
Business Performance
The role involves driving market growth of primary client relationships and achieving growth targets in financial performance such as deposits, loans, and non-interest income. The Assistant Leader is expected to actively seek and deliver the right client introductions to the right team member(s) to achieve growth targets and execute successful sales initiatives.
Sales Leadership and Coaching
In addition to driving business performance, the Assistant Leader is responsible for supporting the coaching, development, and mentorship of the team members. This includes actively supporting the execution of partner produced sales and marketing initiatives, reinforcing training, development and coaching to branch teams, and assisting the Branch Banking Leader with talent management functions.
Client Experience
A key aspect of the role is delivering client engagement and education, using the tools and systems available. The Assistant Leader is tasked with fostering a culture focused on providing an exceptional client experience, with a commitment to delivering on the bank’s mission and purpose.
Risk Management
The role also involves identifying and mitigating reputational, regulatory, employee and client risks. This is achieved by helping team members understand and adhere to all applicable bank policies and regulations, and meeting operational excellence standards.
Additional Accountabilities
The Assistant Leader may also be required to perform special projects, and additional duties and responsibilities as required. Adherence to regulatory and compliance policies and standards is also a fundamental part of the role.
Job Qualifications
The minimum education level required for this position is High School / High School Equivalency or Foreign Equivalent. The candidate should have a minimum of 2+ years of branch sales experience and may require National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) registration under the terms of the S.A.F.E. Act of 2008 and Regulation. Experience with a variety of banking products and banking risk management is also required.
Preferred Qualifications
The preferred qualifications for this position include an Undergraduate Degree (4 years or equivalent) or equivalent experience, 4+ years of branch banking and/or financial institution sales experience, and experience in a leadership role.
