Job Description and Responsibilities
The Banking Associate plays a key role in delivering TD’s brand promise at the store location. The role is accountable for accurately completing everyday banking transactions and providing advice and educational support on services, products, and tools to help customers achieve their financial goals. The role involves a wide range of tasks across multiple areas within the store location, including processing customer transactions, opening new accounts, and educating customers on all banking products and services.
As a Banking Associate, you’ll be expected to deliver end-to-end financial advice to customers, building trust through educational content and tools. You’ll provide consultative support, advocating proactive insights and recommendations. Utilizing TD’s systems and tools, you’ll engage with customers to deepen relationships by providing advice and guidance. Understanding the customer’s financial needs is crucial in this role as it helps to identify opportunities to promote and educate on products and services.
Education & Experience Requirements
The ideal candidate for this role should have a high school diploma or GED, with at least 1-year experience working with customers in any capacity. This experience could be gained through volunteering, education, or military service. Other desirable skills include strong organization skills and excellent communication abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is also a must, and having a Notary License is preferred.
Customer and Shareholder Accountabilities
The Banking Associate is expected to provide legendary customer service, establish and nurture customer relationships, manage wait times for banker meetings, and understand and support the bank’s customer service strategy. The role also involves compliance with regulations such as the Bank Secrecy Act and the Patriot Act to minimize risk and protect the customer, ensuring operational activities are carried out in accordance with company guidelines.
Physical Requirements
The role may involve occasional domestic travel, frequent sitting, standing, and walking, and the ability to move safely in confined spaces. The candidate should be able to handle multiple tasks and operate standard office equipment, with the ability to concentrate for long periods of time.
