The Regional Retail Leader’s role is to implement and execute strategic initiatives for the retail team within assigned locations. Essential Duties and Accountabilities of a Bank Regional Retail Leader

The Regional Retail Leader wears many hats, including:

  1. Leading and managing Branch Managers and/or Assistant Branch Managers and their teams.
  2. Fostering a customer-focused culture within the Universal Banking team.
  3. Promoting a positive work culture and enhancing employee experience.
  4. Conducting regular visits to all branch locations for coaching and sales monitoring.
  5. Developing and executing the Universal Banker strategy.
  6. Collaborating with the Director of Retail Banking and Market Presidents to align market goals with the bank’s strategy.
  7. Implementing and coaching an advice-driven sales process.
  8. Identifying performance gaps and creating action plans to meet bank objectives.
  9. Sourcing and managing the deposit portfolio.
  10. Training and approving consumer lending for the designated region.

Qualifications for the Bank Regional Retail Leader Role

Potential candidates for the role of Bank Regional Retail Leader should possess the following qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a business or sales-related discipline.
  • At least two years of leadership experience in a multi-location environment, preferably in banking.
  • Strong sales and negotiation skills.
  • A minimum of 6-8 years of extensive experience in a comparable position may substitute for the educational requirement.

Supervisory Responsibilities

As a leader, the Bank Regional Retail Leader is tasked with supervising staff in accordance with the bank’s policies and applicable laws. This responsibility extends from training employees, planning and directing work, appraising performance, to rewarding and correcting employees. They are also responsible for addressing complaints and resolving problems.
