Position Overview: Bank Regional Retail Leader
The Bank Regional Retail Leader is a full-time, on-site position that plays a crucial role within Availa Bank. This role involves implementing and executing strategic initiatives for the retail team across various locations. The primary goal is to drive growth within the organization through a positive culture and environment centred on customer needs and high employee engagement.
Key Responsibilities
As a Regional Retail Leader, you will be tasked with coaching, leading, and managing Branch Managers and Assistant Branch Managers and their teams to effectively execute the retail department’s strategic initiatives. You will also promote a positive work culture by recognizing strong performance, supporting employee engagement, and developing action plans to enhance the employee experience. Regular visits to all branch locations are crucial as they provide opportunities for one-on-one coaching, monitoring sales activities, and recognizing key achievements.
Furthermore, as a Regional Retail Leader, you will develop and execute the Universal Banker strategy to drive growth and profitability. You will collaborate with the Director of Retail Banking and Market Presidents to align market goals with the bank’s overarching strategy. You will also identify performance gaps and create and implement action plans to meet the bank objectives. Other duties include sourcing and managing the deposit portfolio, and overseeing consumer lending training and approvals for the designated region.

Qualifications For The Role
An ideal candidate for the Bank Regional Retail Leader role would have a Bachelor’s degree in a business or sales-related discipline. Experience in a multiple location leadership role, preferably in a banking environment, for a minimum of 2 years is vital. Strong sales and negotiation skills are a must, along with 6-8 years of extensive experience in a similar position.
The candidate must also demonstrate positive leadership, the ability to challenge, train, and motivate a team to achieve high production goals, exceptional oral and written communication skills, and exceptional interpersonal skills. The ability to interact with internal teams and customers with tact, diplomacy, and confidentiality is crucial, along with the ability to lead a diverse team, monitor employee engagement, and foster a positive working environment in the assigned market(s).
Supervisory Responsibilities
As a Bank Regional Retail Leader, you will be responsible for supervising staff in accordance with the bank’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and taking corrective action with employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
