Role Responsibilities

The role is responsible for developing and managing client relationships, driving revenue growth, and delivering credit solutions to clients in the Healthtech and Medtech verticals within Life Sciences. This involves leading client engagements, conducting market analysis, and collaborating with internal teams to meet strategic account objectives.

Credit Structuring and Underwriting

The successful candidate will lead the structuring, underwriting, and closing of credit solutions for assigned prospects and clients. They will manage resources effectively and will be responsible for scaling these processes. They will play a key role in managing the end-to-end process on all but the most complex deals, engaging with Relationship Management, clients/prospects, and Credit Admin, and other internal and external stakeholders.

Portfolio Management and Risk Management

The role also involves managing an assigned portfolio of borrowing relationships, reviewing information, evaluating risk, and engaging with clients. The successful candidate will build relationships with appropriate stakeholders and recommend responses to changing situations among clients and across the portfolio broadly. They will ensure that portfolio management practices meet or exceed credit quality and standards, and will work to optimize business processes and procedures to enhance portfolio management scalability and compliance.

Team Development and Collaboration

Engagement in team development is vital. The successful candidate will collaborate with and coach associates who support the team, fostering a collaborative environment and providing mentorship to junior team members.

Market and Industry Expertise

Developing and demonstrating subject matter expertise within the team is necessary. This includes staying informed about industry developments and sharing insights with the team.

Qualifications

A Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years of experience in commercial banking, credit underwriting or analysis, or relationship management, or a High School Diploma or GED and 6 years of experience in the same fields are necessary. Preferred qualifications include 4-6 years of commercial banking experience underwriting, strong financial modeling/analysis, memo writing, debt structuring, negotiation, and closing skills, and advanced knowledge of portfolio management practices.

The base pay for this position is generally between $125,000 – $180,800 per year. Total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards. First Citizens Bank is committed to providing a competitive, thoughtfully designed, and quality benefits program.
